Beautiful vintage handcrafted patchwork blanket made up of triangles and blocks of plain and floral William Morris fabrics in a glorious combination of pinks, claret, mustard and petrol blue.
When you look closely, you can see the tiny, neat stitches that hold the fabric together and it’s clear that someone made this with love and care. The blanket is trimmed with co-ordinating buttons that highlight the blockwork design.
The reverse of the blanket is a charming ditsy floral print, complete with four little patches of contrasting fabric with a butterfly motif, revealing little loving repairs made over the years.
I absolutely love this blanket - it’s soft from years of use, yet it’s in beautiful condition. It has a resassuringly cosy weight to it, yet it’s not too heavy. I also love the remnants of William Morris Pimpernel fabric and the little patches that tell the story of how much it has been loved.
Perfect for picnics and garden parties, warming up wintery car journeys or cosy evenings with a book and a brew.
A total one off - buy it before I change my mind and keep it!
