The Ty Coch Inn is officially one of the best beach bars in the world! Sitting directly on the beach in the tiny fishing village of Porthdinllaen on the Llyn Peninsula.
Built in 1823, it was originally a vicarage and then opened as an inn in 1842 to quench the thirst of the busy shipbuilders who worked on the beach.
About the Artist
Josie Russell is a talented textile artist based in Gwynedd. Her work is inspired by the mountains, flora and fauna of the North Wales coast and countryside.
As an extension of this, she is passionate about sustainability and treading lightly on the earth. Thrifty as well as arty, Josie only uses the bare minimum of new materials: canvasses, certain threads or spare parts for her sewing machine.
The rest - fabric remnants, ribbons, buttons, beads and other trinkets are recycled from Josie’s own clothes, donated by her family and friends or sourced from local charity shops, meaning that her money often finds its way back to charity.
