This is where my love affair with patchwork quilts began! A copy of this book used to sit on my Grandma’s shelf, along with an old biscuit tin of buttons and fabric scraps.
Part practical reference book, part instruction manual, this book stitches together the history of patchwork with the techniques and methods used to create your own patchwork quilt.
Covering everything from the tools required, planning out patchwork designs and how to join patches by hand or by machine, you’ll soon know your cathedral windows from your Suffolk puffs.
The second half of the book covers the art of embroidery and applique, so you can embellish your patchwork quilt with meaningful motifs.
The book is packed full of helpful diagrams and nostalgic images of 1970s women, children and homes rocking the patchwork.
Book condition:
*Vintage book*
The book is hardback and is in excellent condition for its age, with a strong spine. The dust-jacket is free from scuffs and marks.
The inside cover shows signs that a library card pocket was once stuck to it and the pages are slightly yellowing at the edges due to age, other than that, the book is completely free from marks, creases or tears and is ready to be reloved by you!
