The Menai Strait is a narrow stretch of water that separates the island of Anglesey from the Welsh mainland.
Designed by Thomas Telford, the Menai bridge was the world's first suspension bridge and is as atmospheric today as it was in 1826.

About the Artist
Josie Russell is a talented textile artist based in Gwynedd. Her work is inspired by the mountains, flora and fauna of the North Wales coast and countryside.
As an extension of this, she is passionate about sustainability and treading lightly on the earth.
Thrifty as well as arty, Josie only uses the bare minimum of new materials: canvasses, certain threads or spare parts for her sewing machine.
The rest - fabric remnants, ribbons, buttons, beads and other trinkets are recycled from Josie’s own clothes, donated by her family and friends or sourced from local charity shops, meaning that her money often finds its way back to charity.
