A small stoneware Numol jar with rough edges and lots of character. Fill it with wildflowers, store matches in it for lighting your candles or add vintage charm to a shelf, dresser or cosy corner.
Dating to around 1910, the jar is covered with characterful gravelly bumps that give it character and texture. Bold, utilitarian typography is hand stamped on the front, featuring ‘Numol Body Builder’.
Numol was a malt extract marketed as a food supplement to nourish post-war children and adults. It was produced in direct competition to Virol, produced by the Bovril company.
It would make a lovely gift for someone who collects stoneware or transferware or a little treat to cosy up your home.
**Extra long candle matches with cinnamon coloured tips are also available. These matches are made in the UK and are free from animal fat, making them vegan and cruelty free.**
