About Portmeirion Pottery
Portmeirion Pottery is based in Stoke-on-Trent and was co-founded by Susan Williams-Ellis, the eldest daughter of Clough Williams-Ellis, the architect who designed the Italianate village of Portmeirion in North Wales.
She studied ceramics under the tutelage of pottery legends Bernard and David Leach and took over AE Gray pottery in Staffordshire so that she could design pottery to sell in her gift shop at Portmeirion.
