A versatile, rustic stoneware jar, dating from the 1920s, featuring a beaded, honey glazed collar and a natural glazed body.
Originally used for preserving fruit or vegetables, it would now make a beautiful utensil jar or characterful container for wild, blowsy blooms or dried flowers or stems of eucalyptus.
With stoneware of this age, it’s typical to see the odd smudge, blemish and glaze drip - this is what gives it character.
There are a couple of subtle chips on the inside edge of the collar, they’re not visible once the jar is filled, seem to be very old and haven’t compromised the structural integrity of the piece.
A versatile jar with rustic character, ready to be reloved. Perfect for adding a bit of country soul to your home.
